- Volunteer Qualification:
- LAYP high school students will have priority seats
- LAYP middle school students may apply.
- If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, you will be eligible for Mr. Joe Biden’s President Award.
- Non- US citizen or permanent resident will receive a certificate of service hours only from LAYP.

- Music Theory (basic note reading & rhythm skills): 3
Types of Work for Which Volunteers Are Needed
- music tutoring for the students in need
- preparing for lesson plans
- Additional: participating in a concert visit series to a convalescent hospital/nursing home/retirement center.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award
The student volunteers can be nominated to the President’s Volunteer Service if the following volunteer service hours meet .

- Award Ceremony: To Be Announced; A recipient needs to give a short speech at the online ceremony
- Volunteer Service Hour Credits at Other Sites: You may submit your service hour certificate issued by other community service programs to add credit hours to the required hours above.

2024 Summer
- All the rehearsal & performance schedules related to volunteer services.
- For example, if you assist Orchestra 2 at 6:00-8:00 PM (2 hours) and rehearse for Orchestra 1 at 7:00 – 9:00 PM (2 hours) on Sun. June 25, you will earn “2 hours” service credit which includes the overlapped time slots.
- When Orchestra 1 & 2 are overlapped, attend Orchestra 1 as your primary rehearsal and notice that you will receive full service hour credit from Orchestra 2 rehearsals.
